FAHIE TRIAL RESCHEDULED TO JANUARY 22ND 2024

The trial of former Premier Andrew Fahie on drug and money laundering charges has been delayed by another two weeks, now scheduled to begin January 22nd.

This following a previous delay from January 8th to January 10th, to facilitate a hearing on January 8th, following motions filed by the prosecution that have been objected to by the defence.

Fahie’s attorney argued that the motions, filed in the second half of December 2023, raised crucial issues at the eleventh hour.

At the hearing, the judge is expected to address outstanding motions regarding foreign laws, witnesses, hearsay evidence, and other issues arising late in the case.

Fahie faces charges of drug smuggling, money laundering, and racketeering in Miami, stemming from his April 2022 arrest.

If convicted, he could face up to life in prison.
