SCRUB ISLAND RESORT IN BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS INTRODUCES DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina has appointed Sandra Grisham-Clothier as Director of Business Development of the luxury, private-island getaway in the British Virgin Islands. Grisham-Clothier will oversee operations and activations, which involve all facilities at the property, including the soon-to-open Marina Cay.

“Sandra is a great addition and we’re thrilled to have her join the Scrub Island team at this exciting time,” said Julianne Corlew, Vice President & Managing Partner of Mainsail Lodging & Development. “Over her outstanding career in the industry, Sandra has developed long-standing connections in the Caribbean that will allow her to enhance operations at Scrub and further improve the island experience for our overnight and day-visit guests.”

Grisham-Clothier has spent the past 30 years in operations and/or management at various resorts throughout the United States and Caribbean. Most recently she was General Manager of Divi Carina Bay in St. Croix, USVI, and, before that, General Manager of Alaia Belize, an Autograph Collection resort in San Pedro, Belize. She’s also held management positions in the BVI with Bitter End Yacht Club, Peter Island Resort, and Rosewood Little Dix Bay. Grisham-Clothier has a degree in business administration from California Southern University. She resides on Great Camanoe, adjacent to Scrub Island.

Tucked along a rugged cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and neighboring islands, the resort has offered a serene haven for travelers since opening in 2010, providing exceptional on-island experiences and an ideal location for island-hopping exploration of the best of the BVI.

The shallows surrounding Scrub Island, as well as many nearby coves, bays, reefs and inlets, are ideal for snorkelers and divers. Snorkeling and diving trips may be arranged with Dive BVI located on property. Scrub Island’s Marina is also home to America’s #1 Sailing School®, Colgate Offshore Sailing School. For more than 50 years, Offshore Sailing School has taught more than 150,000 adults and families to sail or sail better. First-time sailors or guests wanting to sharpen their sailing skills also have several learning vacation options at Scrub Island Resort, including Learn to Sail, Performance Sailing and Fast Track to Cruising courses. Two private beaches, a waterfront infinity pool, an intimate spa, and world-class dining complete the overall experience on Scrub Island. A year-round tropical climate, balmy breezes and crystal-clear waters are the perfect setting to enjoy other island adventures, such as hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkeling and more.

The resort offers several overnight options for guests and sailing vessels, with 52 guest accommodations, including suites with gourmet kitchens, spacious living areas and private/oversized balconies, as well as a collection of two-, three-, four- and six-bedroom villas, and a 55-slip marina with five for mega yachts up to 170 feet. An on-site boutique with high-end resort wear and accessories, sundries shop with grab & go options, and full-service provisions store with gourmet foods, fresh produce, meats, seafood, beer, wine, spirits and more are all available to resort and mooring guests.
