ROTARY CLUB SUNRISE OBSERVES WATER SANITATION & HYGIENE MONTH

For the month of March, Rotary Clubs worldwide celebrated Water Sanitation & Hygiene. The Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town continues the plight through the emphasis on Hygiene by making contributions of water, Hand Sanitizers and Soap Dispensers to local Primary Schools throughout the territory. These donations will continue to ensure best practices in Health Care amongst the schools and curbing spread of diseases. Rotary projects worldwide consist of building wells and contributing to HANWASH programs.

Rotary’s emphasis has shifted towards education, sustainability, and long-term solutions to ensure lasting benefits as well as access to clean water.

The various donations by Rotary Club Sunrise were made on Thursday Mach 21st in observance of World Water Day and the benefactor schools were Ebenezer Thomas Primary School, Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Center, Ivan Dawson Primary School, Francis Lettsome Primary School, Willard Wheatley Primary School on Tortola and the Claudia Creque Educational Center on Anegeda.

This initiative was spear headed by Assistant District Governor Rosemarie Flax, President of the Rotary Club Sunrise Jennifer O’Neal, President Elect Faye Smith Penn and Youth Services Director Sonya Penn.
