AIDA CRUISE LINES DOCKED AT THE CYRIL B. ROMNEY TORTOLA PIER PARK

On February 1st 2020, a ship by the name of the AIDAperla was denied entry into Castries, St. Lucia after health authorities had confirmed that high number of cruise passengers had been experiencing respiratory tract infections.

The Department of Health and Wellness of St. Lucia denied any cases of the Coronavirus being onboard the ship.

This morning, a cruise ship from the AIDA Cruise Line fleet arrived in our territory. The people of the Virgin Islands were alarmed as the ship docked at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park.

Our newsroom quickly reached out to the staff at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park, they then brought some clarification to the situation.

The AIDAluna, an entirely different ship from the AIDAperla, was docked at our cruise dock in Road Town. It is easy for these ships to be mistaken, as all AIDA Cruise Line Ships display a similar art work.

Here you can see the ship’s itinerary: The AidaLuna departed from the Dominican Republic and visited Martinique, Antigua and St. Maarten before coming to our beautiful shores.
