PROPOSALS INVITED FOR INSURANCE ON ADMINISTRATION COMPLEX

The Government of the Virgin Islands through the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities (MTWU) is seeking the services of a suitable locally based insurance company for the provision of insurance for the Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex.

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said the insurance being sought is for Contractor’s All Risk; Public Liability; and Fire and Extended Perils (inclusive of storms and earthquakes) for the Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex. 

Mrs. Rhymer added, “The Government has embarked on renovation and enhancement against fire and extended perils, inclusive of storms and earthquakes, of the Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex, which suffered extensive damage in 2017.”

She added, “As part of this development, there is also a need to cover all construction works projected over the next three (3) years and to provide coverage for any third party that may access the property during the construction period.”

Eligible local insurance companies are required to submit valid Insurance License issued pursuant to the Insurance Act 2008 or a copy of Insurance License Application submitted to the Director of Insurance, Certificates of Good Standing from the Director of the Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue as well as any other documentation listed in the Tender Document. 

Bidding documents are available from Monday, June 15 and would be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Request for Proposal – Insurance for Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex”. 

Interested tenderers should submit (1) original and three (3) copies, plus  one (1) soft copy (flash drive) in sealed envelopes marked, “Original” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope marked “Copies”.  Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope marked “Request for Proposal – Insurance for Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex” and must be received no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7 and addressed to:

Tenders will be opened at the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, Qwomar Trading Building #2, 2nd Floor at 12:00 noon on, Tuesday, July 7.  All prospective Tenderers are invited to witness this process via “Webex” and will be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening.
