CABINET APPROVES DAYCARES, PRESCHOOLS AND SUMMER PROGRAMMES TO RE-OPEN

In a statement issued today, 24 June, 2020 by the Premier of the Virgin Islands, confirmation was given that daycare centres, preschools and summer programmes have now been granted permission to open.

All institutions will be subjected to inspection by the Environmental Health Division, and once approved can then be opened to the public.

Premier Fahie said in his statement “Today, 24 June, 2020 Cabinet met and endorsed the re-opening of day care centres, preschools and summer programmes, subject to the inspection and approval by the Environmental Health Division and in alignment with the Education and Public Health guidelines for their safe operation.”

Residents have been pleading with the government to reopen institutions for quite some time. This recently made Cabinet decision will be welcomed by many.
