RVIPF SEEKS PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING MISSING MAN, JUNIOR PETERS

Detectives from the Major Crime Investigations Team are seeking your assistance in locating a missing man, 50 year old, Junior Peters.

Mr. Peters is a Jamaican National residing at Carrot Bay, who was last seen around 4:00pm on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Horse Path. His disappearance is out of character and there is serious concern for his welfare.

The circumstances of his disappearance are that on the day in question the individual was engaged in landscaping activities at a private residence in Horse Path. Between 2:45p.m. and 4:00p.m. witnesses reported seeing Mr. Peters sitting on a large rock just outside of the residence.

The next day the victim’s tools/machine used for landscaping was met in the same location as the day before.

On Monday, the tools were seen in the same location along with the pruned vegetation which drew the suspicion of tenants of the said building. This prompted an immediate search of the area where personal items of Mr. Peters were found.

The police were summoned and immediately processed the scene and searched around the premises, but regrettably he was not found.

The following days have involved several searches around the Horse Path residence by Police, Fire, VISAR, Governor’s Office, Search and Cadaver dogs and volunteers, but same has proved futile. House to House inquiries were also conducted in neighbouring communities, but to date unfortunately there have been no results.

Police are further appealing to anyone who may have information pertaining to Mr. Peter’s disappearance to contact Detective Inspector Vernon Larocque; directly on 368-9809 or the Major Crime Investigation Team on 368-5682.

Police are also asking for anyone residing in the general area of Z-King Radio Station to check around their premises to see if Mr. Peters would have sought shelter on their property based on a possible injury.

All information will be treated with the strictest confidence.
