BVI SEES THREE SUDDEN DEATHS IN LESS THAN ONE WEEK

Investigations are ongoing into the sudden death of three residents across the territory within the last week.

The most recent victim was discovered dead today, September 20th on what would have been his 60th birthday. Acting information officer of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, Akia Thomas said “I can confirm a report of an unresponsive male in the East End District. Police responded and the deceased was identified as David Williams, a 59 year-old Vincentian National.”

Investigations are also ongoing into the circumstances leading up to the death of Joyce Woodley. The 60-year old Vincentian national’s lifeless body was found on September 15th in her Parham Town home. She was a former member of the Red Rock Restaurant and Bar family.

The following day officials also confirmed the death of Eric Mathias, a 65-year old BVIslander whose lifeless body was discovered at his Horse Path home.

None of the deaths have been deemed suspicious according to the RVIPF.

Many residents are perturbed at whether the increase in sudden deaths are attributed to the novel coronavirus. However, Minister of Health, Honorable Carvin Malone ruled out the concern at a previous press conference, adding that all cases are tested for the virus, none of which has returned positive up to the time of his comment.
