WEEKEND SEARCHES YIELD FIREARM AND DRUGS

Searches carried out by officers of Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Special Investigations Team over the weekend have yielded one firearm and a large quantity of drugs.

Officers charged two persons for keeping an unlicenced firearm after a search warrant executed Friday afternoon at a home in Butu Mountain uncovered the loaded illegal weapon. Charged are Dwight Callwood, 41, and female Pia King, 22, both of Butu Mountain.

A second search carried out in Cane Garden Bay on Saturday March 6th, yielded a large quantity of cocaine. The bust took place at a locally owned Gas Station in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola BVI. One person is in custody in relation to this seizure after blocks of cocaine was found in his taxi. 

Investigations are ongoing in these matters.
