LOCAL EDUCATOR PUBLISHES MATH WORKBOOK

Local Educator, Ms. Khalilah Callwood will be launching her first book titled, Math Made Easy: Consumer Arithmetic Series – Book 1 on March 31.

‘Consumer Arithmetic’ is the first printed edition of the compilation of the various subtopic associated with Consumer Math. 

“Math Made Easy is a study guide with practice problems to help students prepare to take the CXC Mathematics exam, and individuals alike to improve their skills in math,” Ms. Callwood said.

The author said the series is easy to understand and contains various topics in math. The subtopics are as follows:

•           Wages & Salaries
•           Appreciation & Depreciation
•           Interest: Simple vs Compound
•           Income Tax
•           Hire Purchase
•           Utility Bills

Ms. Callwood said she wrote the book during the 24 hour lockdown as a means to help students during their online sessions.

“It seemed like the most appropriate time to write this book. Also I know firsthand how challenging it can be at times to find material readily available in a single text to supplement various concepts that are being taught in the classroom.” Ms. Callwood explained.

The book will be launched on, March 31 at Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park at 5:30 p.m.in collaboration with the Department of Culture.
