The woman shot in Paraquita Bay last night has succumbed to her injuries. The victim has been identified as Catherine Pickering, 54 of Paraquita Bay.
Officers of Major Crime Team are following a number of leads into last night’s robbery.
According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force “Initial reports indicate that the local businesswoman arrived home at Paraquita Bay around 7:30pm with her day’s proceeds. Upon exiting her vehicle she heard the voice of male demanding money. The mother of businesswoman, who was at home at the time, heard noise outside and attempted to exit the house and was shot.”
The assailant or assailants made off with a bag containing a sum of money.
No one else was injured in the incident.
Persons who may have information into the identity of the perpetrator or perpetrators in the incident are asked to contact the Major Crime Team at 368-5682 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.
