She said, “I’m deeply saddened to be awaken by a text message that broke my heart with the news of the sudden passing of “Danny” as he was affectionately called. Young “Danny” was so full of life, a great smile of welcome each time and a passion for business and mechanics. He was a part of the bustling life on the corner of Johnson’s Ghut and very much a well-known and well liked member of the District Six community.

As a mother of two young people, close to his age, my heart aches for his father and mother Renard and Cynthia Hamm. I’m so sorry for your loss. To the entire family and especially his brother, my family and I will pray for your comfort at this time. I ask the community to bear them in your prayers and when possible, visit and comfort the family. Losing “Danny” will be hard on all of us. He will not be forgotten.”
