HOSPITALITY RATING SYSTEM COMING SOON TO THE BVI – PREMIER FAHIE

The BVI Tourist Board will soon be implementing a hospitality rating system which are among several projects and campaigns aimed at boosting the BVI tourism product regionally and internationally.

Premier Andrew Fahie made the announcement during a live tourism update on Friday June 25, where he revealed several of these campaigns and projects.

He said, “The Tourist Board’s Product Department is also planning to roll out the following before the end of the year: one, a hospitality rating system to monitor the level of hospitality in the territory. This will be one of the few in the region that will enable the BVI Tourist Board to monitor and assess the level of hospitality in the region and rectify issues quickly.”

The premier also said that there are plans in place to reinstate the BVI ‘You’re Beautiful Campaign’ which was designed to focus on keeping the islands across the territory clean.

In addition to the aforementioned campaigns, the Premier also listed a number of projects that are scheduled to come on stream soon.

“Several other projects are also in progress, including picture taking signage on Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, Tortola, and Anegada, the Carrot Bay Cultural Village and Hiking Trail on Anegada,” he stated.

Completed projects and campaigns

Premier Fahie also highlighted some of the completed projects which included: the North Sound Post Office; 3 lookout platforms on Virgin Gorda and 1 on Anegada; and the installation of several hammocks on White Bay, Jost Van Dyke.

Meanwhile, the completed campaigns included “Her MOMents” – a Mother’s Day Promotion to encourage restaurant patronage and the culinary sector; “DADventures” – A Father’s Day Promotion to encourage patronage of adventure tour activities; and the annual Staycation initiative.

The premier said the initiatives are aimed at pushing the BVI tourism and its economy into overdrive.
