POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE RESULTS IN MAGISTRATE COURT CLOSING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

The Magistrate’s Court on Tortola has been closed until further notice after one of its staff members tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

This was revealed in a media bulletin from the Office of the Deputy Governor this morning which said the court will be closed from today June 30th until further notice.

“The reason for closure is that one member of staff has tested positive for COVID-19 and in accordance with Public Health procedures, unvaccinated and partially vaccinated members of staff are being required to isolate for 10-14 days followed by the appropriate testing,” the bulletin stated.

It added, “However, where practicable, some matters will be heard remotely and the parties involved will be advised accordingly.”
