TORTOLA TOASTMASTERS CLUB OF BVI NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE INSTALLED

The Tortola Toastmasters Club of the BVI installed it’s 2021-2022 Executive Committee Members as the new year commences 1 July, 2021.  At the Red-Letter-Affair Installation Dinner with Past President Dereck Alphonso as the Toastmaster of the Evening and Area Director Ernald George conducting the installation. The installation ceremony was themed with a quote from Johann Wolfgang, “Knowing is not enough, we must apply, willing is not enough, we must do”

The outgoing President Portia Stout gave congratulatory remarks to the outstanding Executive Committee of 2020-2021 as the club obtained President Distinguished and also gave warm and encouraging farewell remarks prior to pinning the Incoming President Luce Hodge-Smith at our prestige dinner. The Guest Speaker of the Evening was none other than John Lewis; an Honourary Toastmaster of the Club and Founding Member.

The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. The Toastmasters International motto is “Where Leaders are Made”.

Tortola Toastmasters is proud to be a part of District 81 which serves the Caribbean. Division E Director Sashoy Duncan represents many territories in Division E such as Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, St. Marten, St. Martin, St. Kitts & Nevis, Virgin Islands of the United States (USVI) and the Virgin Islands (BVI)

The Tortola Toastmasters Club meets every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of the month at 6 pm (GMT -4) via ZOOM. Due to the current pandemic protocols, the club is currently not having face to face general meetings as members are committed to staying safe as we all navigate through this new normal.
