EDUCATORS ENGAGE IN SUMMER INSTITUTE

Educators across the Territory are engaged in a week of training from August 24 to August 26 before the opening of school on Monday, September 6.

The one-week institute began today with Professional Day, by way of a virtual opening on Facebook @BVIGovernement and radio.

Chief Education Officer, Mrs. Connie George said the Summer Institute 2021 will be held under the overarching theme of “Educating All in Changing Times– Every Learner Succeeds” which has been in place for education since the beginning of the pandemic.

Mrs. George said, “In keeping with the OECS Strategy Indicator 3.5.3 which focuses on, ‘improving the quality of teaching and learning at all levels using learner-centred experiences,’ it is imperative that teachers find ways to connect with their students to optimise the teaching learning process.” She added, “This year’s institute will focus on two things: Personal Development and Collaboration & Integration”

The week will conclude with orientation for new teachers on Friday, August 27.

The theme for the 2021 – 2022 academic school year is “Educating All in Changing Times – Every Learner Succeeds”
