SECOND BAR ON TORTOLA FINED $1000 AND ORDERED TO CLOSE FOLLOWING BREACH OF COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

A second bar on Tortola was fined $1000 and immediately ordered to close by the Social Distancing Task Force following another breach of COVID-19 protocols.

The Family Bar and Restaurant which is located in Paraquita Bay was said to be in breach of social distancing protocols on the night of Sunday September 12.

According to the information reaching our newsroom, the fine and closure was executed by Social Distancing Task Force officer Devlon Joseph and Chief Environmental Health Officer Lionel Michael who were assisted by 3 police officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.

This is the second bar to be fined and ordered closed by the Social Distancing Task Force over the weekend.

On Saturday night Dos Chicas Bar which is located in Sea Cow’s Bay was fined $1000 and ordered to close following a similar breach of the social distancing COVID-19 protocols.
