BVI NIGHTCLUBS TO REOPEN TO FULLY VACCINATED PATRONS ONLY! STAFF ALSO SUBJECTED TO THE JAB

The Government of the Virgin Islands has turned to “vaccine passes” in an effort to allow for the reopening of night clubs.

This is according to new Cabinet-approved policies that mandates staff and patrons receive the Covid-19 jab before business resumes, effective September 16th, 2021.

The revised Public Health and Suppression order advised laid out the following in respect to nightclubs and Entertainment Centers (strip clubs);

  • “All staff working at a nightclub or and Entertainment Centre shall be fully vaccinated;
  • All patrons in a nightclub or an Entertainment Centre shall be fully vaccinated and shall provide proof thereof.”

The businesses highlighted will only be allowed to reopen under the specified conditions.

Local entertainment clubs have been dealing with stop-and-starts on reopening throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ronald Georges previously highlighted the detection of fraudulent vaccination cards locally.

While the business owners have been calling for a quick reopening, it remains unclear how staff will be able to validate vaccination cards.

The Minister of Health and Social Development is scheduled to make an official announcement today on the matter.
