LINTON M. WHEATLEY PROMINENT BUSINESSMAN AND FOUNDER OF BVI DAY OF PRAYER HAS DIED

The territory of the Virgin Islands is mourning the loss of stalwart businessman and founder of the BVI Day of Prayer Mr. Linton M. Wheatley.

Mr. Wheatley passed away on September 28th in the BVI, this was confirmed by family in an official post.

Mr. Wheatley among other things was a member of the Church of God Holiness Baughers Bay, Tortola and was known as a stalwart community member.

He was the founder of the World Day of Prayer celebrations in the BVI, which continues to be observed today.

Some of his well-known businesses in the BVI are Island Department Store and Happy Lion Restaurant.  

He is survived by his wife Pearl Wheatley, four children and seven grandchildren.
