The Government of the Virgin Islands is requesting tenders for the construction of a new bathroom building at the New Market Square in Road Town.
Tenderers will provide all plant, labour, equipment and materials to perform all operations in connection with the excavation works for site clearance and substructure works; concrete reinforced foundation works; concrete reinforced beams, columns and slabs; exterior and interior finishes; and electrical and plumbing works.
Procurement Coordinator Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said eligible tenderers are required to submit Certificates of Good Standing in respect of the Social Security and taxes including Payroll and Property Tax from VI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, Inland Revenue and the Commercial Registry.
Tenderers must also have a valid Trade Licence, and detailed work programme showing the order in which the various sections of works are to be executed along with other documents as outlined in the tender document. A Tender Bond/Tender Security of not less than 1% of the bid price must also be presented. This must be done in the form of a bank guarantee, banker’s draft, certified cheque, or a bond provided by an Insurance Agency. Failure on the part of tenderers to enclose the supporting documentation indicated above with each respective tender will render the tender non-responsive on the date of the opening of tenders.
Bidding documents are available from Monday, December 13, 2021, and will be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Bathroom Building at New Market Square”.
Interested tenderers should submit one (1) original, three (3) copies and one (1) flash drive containing the bidder’s documents. The original bid should be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “ORIGINAL” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope and marked “COPIES”. Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope marked “Bathroom Building at New Market Square” and addressed to:

All tenders must be deposited in the Tender Box at the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit), Qwomar Trading Building #2 no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Tenders will not be accepted after the Tender Box is closed.
A virtual pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. via WebEx. Due to Covid-19 preventative measures and social distancing guidelines established by the Ministry of Health and Social Development, all prospective tenderers will be notified of the access code and password prior to the meeting. This will be followed by a site visit. All prospective tenderers are invited to attend.
Tenders will be opened at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, Qwomar Trading Building. #2, 2nd Floor. Tenderers are invited to witness this process via WebEx and will be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening.
