FLOATILLA OF LIGHTS BOAT PARADE HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF SUPPORT; ORGANIZERS OPTIMISTIC

Due to an insufficient amount of registrants the public is informed that the Floatilla of Lights boat parade has been cancelled.

In an official comment organizers said, “While we share your disappointment we have already had positive conversations about next year’s event which will be part of the event lineup for Christmas in the City.

We would like to take this opportunity to express a heartfelt thanks to all who took time and made the effort to participate and to support Floatilla of Lights 21.

As you can appreciate the success of any event does not fall solely on the organiser, especially one that is new and is dependant on public interest and more importantly registered participation.

Events take lots of planning, marketing and promotion, especially ones that does not have a budget and or sponsorship.

The success of an events however does not only require sponsorship and participation, it also requires the public to come out a support and they did for the float parade which shows there is an interest in a family friendly Christmas events such as this. The seed is planted.”

They also said, “Despite the cancellation Floatilla of Lights ’22 is already in the planning stages’.”
