CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER AT BVIHSA ABRUPTLY SENT ON NON-DISCIPLINARY LEAVE; HEALTH MINISTER AND BVIHSA YET TO ISSUE STATEMENT

It has been confirmed that the acting Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Cedorene Patricia Malone-Smith and Human Resources Manager Mr. Levor Lettsome at the BVI Health Services Authority have been abruptly sent on non-disciplinary leave.

284 Media delayed reporting on the matter as our newsroom reached out to Health Minister Hon. Carvin Malone who assured that an official statement would be forthcoming from the agency. However, to date no statement has been issued on the matter.

Our newsroom also reached out to Marketing and Communications personal at the BVIHSA who said they were unable to speak on the matter.

Longstanding medical professional Dr. June Samuel is said to be presently acting as the Chief Executive Officer at the state owned institution.

Malone-Smith who previously served as the Director of Hospital Services was appointed to the post of Acting Chief Executive Officer in June of 2021 after Dr. Ronald Georges was relocated to the Ministry of Health and has since been leading dual roles.

It is unclear how long Lettsome has been serving as the agency’s Human Resources Manager.

More to come as the story develops.
