ROAD PROJECT CONTINUES AT FISH BAY

In continuing its programme of upgrading the Territory’s roads, the Government of Virgin Islands has resumed works on the Fish Bay Road project.

Minor traffic disruptions are expected over the course of works and the two-lane traffic along the Blackburn Highway in the vicinity of the works will be maintained without compromising safety.  Access to businesses within the project area will also be maintained.

Traffic wardens have been placed on-site during working hours to direct the traffic and ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.  Motorists are advised to approach the area with extreme caution and if possible, use the Ridge Road to access Road Town and East End for ease of traffic congestion in the area.

Demolition activities have started on a box drain along the section of road starting at the base of the hill next to Sol, continuing on to the Skelton Bay Lot. Works have also commenced on the retaining wall structure near the entrance of Clarence Thomas Limited (CTL).

For current updates about this project, persons may visit the Recovery and Development Agency’s (RDA) and Government’s social media pages.

Motorist are asked to exercise patience during this time as well as cooperation as extensive road repairs and infrastructural work continue throughout the Territory.
