Today, the Acting Premier of the Virgin Islands, Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley, has issued a statement regarding the COI recommendations. The Acting Premier told the public that he is presently reviewing the COI recommendations and emphasized that he is very concerned about “the anchor” of the recommendations—which would be the partial suspension of the constitution and direct rule by the UK.
Hon. Whealtey also shared that he has written to both the Governor and the UK Minister for the Overseas Territories about his thoughts on the recommendations.
