In the past 5 years, District One has been through many challenging events. From the ravages of the 2017 hurricanes to the 2020 pandemic, all coupled with the loss of loved ones, some tragically. We all have been touched in some way by life’s trials.
“Members of the Community, in sharing their concerns with each other felt it was necessary, to come together socially and take some time for fun and rejuvenation considering recent and current events, shared Mr. Pete Smith, one of the organisers.
To help fulfill their objectives, a 1st District Mingle is scheduled for Saturday, 4th June 2022, 7:00 p.m. at the Cappoon’s Bay field. ALL first district residents are invited and encouraged to attend.
There will also be an interactive, motivational talk by Dr. Albert Thompkins to address mental health & wellness, while Mr. Davanie Dawson will motivate and inspire our youth.
“Additionally, a candlelight vigil and signing of a memorial board will be held to remember those we’ve lost between 2017 – Present”, stated Mr. Pete Smith.
Fun activities will include games for adults such as tug of war, musical chairs, and others, a fun District Trivia, with musical selections by Zion Sounds and other entertainment by DJ Fire Blaze.
Prizes will be given to winners. The children will enjoy a bouncy castle, face painting, lucky dip and other fun activities. Refreshments will be served.
Residents of the 1st District are invited to come out and bring the entire family as the first district unifies. This is a free event is Powered by the 1st District Community and businesses in partnership.
