HON. MARK VANTERPOOL, “I WISH TO MAKE IT VERY CLEAR TO MY CONSTITUENTS OF THE 4TH DISTRICT AND BVI PUBLIC THAT I HAVE NOT TENDERED MY RESIGNATION FROM THE 4TH HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS.”

Today June 14th, 2022 Hon. Mark Vanterpool 4th District Representative has issued a statement after rumors began circulating about him resigning as a member of the House of Assembly.

Vanterpool said, “I make this statement in light of the false rumors which are circulating. I wish to make it very clear to my constituents of the 4th district and BVI public that I have not tendered my resignation from the 4th House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands.

In the recent past, I have stated that I do not wish to run for office following this term. It is therefore my intention to serve this term in full. I am honored to continue to serve the constituents of the 4th district and the people of this territory as a senior member of the 4th House of Assembly and as a Statesman as I have been recently saying.

I will also continue to advise the Unity Government as best as I can during the rest of this term. Let me repeat; I wish to reassure my constituents in the 4th district of my commitment to continue to serve in my best capacity for the duration of this term.

Reforms for any growing country are necessary. Growing pains are good pains. US Senator from Georgia, Rev. Raphael G. Warnock recently wrote his book entitled “A Way Out of No Way”. Let us reflect on those words. I firmly believe our best days are still ahead. There is hope for the Virgin Islands. So, let’s “keep hope alive” according to Rev. Jessie Jackson’s words.”
