DAWSON HELPED RED SOX TO 2ND PLACE IN FIRST EVER MLB HOME RUN DERBY IN LONDON

Local baseball professional Kennard Dawson recently assisted his Boston Red Sox to a second-place result in the first-ever FTX Major League Baseball Home Run Derby X in London.

Dawson, who has since returned to the Virgin Islands, smashed a walk-off home run to advance the Red Sox to the finals after they won the preliminary round.

Dawson only needed one home run, and he accomplished this hit on his 2nd attempt.

In the finals, Dawson captured 10 points off 7 home runs, but the New York Yankees Richard Brereton needed one home run to defeat the Red Sox, and he was able to do this for his team to win the derby.

Speaking following the event, Dawson said, “it was a great experience overall, I was able to work with Great Britain’s coaching staff. We did training clinics for their under 15 team and Women’s National Team.”
