Summer Sizzle BVI will make a triumphant return to the breathtaking shores of the British Virgin Islands for its 12th Anniversary scheduled for – July 20 – 25, 2022, after a two year hiatus due to Covid19 pandemic! The Experience is expected to be Epic!
SSBVI 2022’s spectacular fashion, lifestyle, and wellness experience features a schedule designed to showcase local and international fashion designers. The highly anticipated Global Glamour Runway Show remains the highlight of the event, showcasing well-known international and emerging fashion designers. Guests will enjoy festive parties, such as our Welcome Culture and Style Party and our Flora and Fauna Style Party. Sample delightful cuisine, fabulous entertainment, a chartered sailing excursion to Virgin Gorda, and a health and wellness retreat.
This year’s Global Glamour Runway Show will now be held at Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park in Road Town on Saturday July 23, 2022. This event will no longer be held at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.
The show will be hosted by Joel Steingold, a lover of all things BVI, and is currently seen as Marcus St. John on the Showtime Series The Chi Town and in the upcoming Disney Plus Series “The Crossover”. He has also appeared in roles on How To Get Away with Murder, Shameless, Hawaii 5-0, and the Muppets. Joel, a native of Detroit, now a Los Angeles based Actor, was the first host of Summer Sizzle BVI in its debut in 2019.
With more than a dozen designers from the USA, Africa and Caribbean being featured in this year’s edition of Summer Sizzle BVI, the spectacular event will be hosted at the Cyril B. Romney Pier Park.
Leading the collective will be Sergio Hudson, who will be making his first appearance at Summer Sizzle BVI after attracting major buzz at New York Fashion Week and for his game-changing outfit worn by Michelle Obama at President Joe Biden’s inauguration.
Other confirmed fashion talents for the Global Glamour Runway Show include Coral Castillo, Project Runway Star from Season 19, Sai Sankoh, Carlton Jones, Edwing D’Angelo, Jaer Caban, Don Murphy, Yumi Katsura, Andrew Nowell, Cesar Galindo.
Swimwear and resort brands, The Islander Swim Collection, Aqua Couture by Roger Gary and ARK Capsule Collection, A Fashion & Art collaboration by BVI designer Kristin Frazer of Trefle Designs who joined forces with internationally collected Abstract Artist Roma Harrigan-Osowo and rising BVI creative Alexia Penn.
The show will also feature a children’s show, produced by Khaliah Clark, Award Winning Fashion Stylist in partnership with Sunni Dai Kids Fashion Week known for their Kids Show in LA, NYC and Miami.
This year Summer Sizzle BVI will launch its Arts Fund aimed at providing scholarships and opportunities to students wishing to pursue careers in fashion, beauty, and the arts, to continue to shine a spotlight on youth education in the BVI.
