THE FRENCHMAN’S CAY BRIDGE IS COMPLETED AND OPEN TO TRAFFIC – FAHIE CREDITED

The Frenchman’s Cay Bridge reconstruction project is now completed and opened to full use following a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Premier and Minister for Communication and Works Honourable Kye Rymer thanked the former Premier and District One Representative Honourable Andrew Fahie for the role he played in getting the project started.

Premier Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley said his National Unity Government was able to deliver on the completion of the bridge and made it a priority to see it through.

He said his government could have decided to discontinue the project when they took office, but they opted to have it completed due to its importance to the Frenchman’s Cay community.

The Project Manager at Quality Construction spoke on behalf of the company and said he believes the new bridge will be able to last for another two centuries.

Meanwhile, Territorial At Large Representative Honourable Carvin Malone thanked the residents of Frenchman’s Cay and the surrounding businesses for their patience.

He also credited the former premier for his role in getting the bridge repaired.
