In their historic debut game for Great Britain, Darier “Dee” Malone and Claury “Clo” Scatliffe both enjoyed a victory in the opening game of the 2022 European Baseball Championships in France.
The team sailed past their opponent the Czech Republic, 27-10, with Scatliffe as the starting pitcher and Malone at 3rd base.
Pitching for 2 innings, Scatliffe had 0 hits and 2 strikeouts. She also contributed with the bat with 1 hit from her 3 times batting that resulted in a triple and 5 runs batted in (RBI).
Meanwhile, Malone led with the bat going 2 hits from her 3 times batting which included 4 RBIs, 3 runs, and 1 stolen base.
Their second match will be against the Netherlands on Thursday, August 4th, 2022.
