The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has confirmed that one person is in custody following the seizure of a speed boat by U.S Customs and Border Patrol in the vicinity of the Frenchman’s Cay Bridge.
This was confirmed moments ago in a statement issued by the police which confirmed that the operation was a joint initiative.
“A joint operation between the RVIPF and U.S federal authorities today resulted in a boat chase that ended in BVI waters. One person is presently in custody,” the RVIPF stated.
“The operation is still live and ongoing therefore no other information can be provided at this time,” the police added.
Initial reports suggested that two of the U.S Air and Marine Operations vessels were in pursuit of the speed boat which ended its journey in the area.
