11 BRITISH OVERSEAS TERRITORIES ADDED TO RUSSIA’S “UNFRIENDLY COUNTRIES LIST”

An additional eleven British Overseas Territories have been added to Russia’s “Unfriendly Countries List”.

A release from the country’s cabinet identified the affected territories as Bermuna, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory the, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, St. Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Akrotiri and Dhekelia, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

This brings the total number of OT’s on this list to 14, inclusive of the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla and Gibraltar who were the first to be added to the list following Britain’s decision to impose economic sanctions on Russia amid ongoing geopolitical conflict with Ukraine.

Countries featured on the “Unfriendly Countries List” are accused of taking unfriendly actions against Russia and its Government.  A total of 60 countries are currently on the list, inclusive of the United States of America, Canada and the entire European Union. 

Those listed are subjected to strict restrictions on areas such as trade and currency restrictions with Russia.
