GOVT NEEDS TO REVISIT THE BUDGET ALLOCATION TO THE PRISON – SAYS MADURO-CAINES

Junior Minister for Tourism Hon. Alvera Maduro-Caines is calling for the government to revisit the budget allocated to the prison for 2023 after noting that it has been cut when compared to previous years.

Maduro-Caines highlighted the importance of the monies which go to the prison and the areas of focus that it usually targets which she said is fundamental to the operation of the Balsam Ghut facility.

Maduro-Caines who is the Sixth District Representative also said she will be pushing for a number of initiatives within her district, that have oftentimes been budgeted for but remain under the line items with nothing being done.

One such project includes the wall and roadworks to be done along the Baughers Bay area near the Alexandrina-Maduro Primary School.
