BVI WOMEN’S SOFTBALL TEAM TO COMPETE IN ECASC TOURNAMENT NEXT MONTH

The British Virgin Islands Women’s National Team is gearing up to compete in the 2023 English Caribbean Amateur Softball Confederation (ECASC) tournament in St. John, United States Virgin Islands.

The tournament will run from March 1 to 6 and will consist of a total of six teams, including Jamaica, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, and the BVI.

National Coach Honourable Neville Smith said he is confident in the team’s ability to win the tournament come next month.

Despite expressing that there is still some work for the team to do prior to the competition, Smith said he is pleased with the performances displayed during the training sessions that have been held so far.

Coach Smith also highlighted the importance of having good pitchers and catchers, stating that the two positions are vital to fielding a winning team.

The winning team from the tournament will automatically qualify for the San Salvador 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo in June 2023.
