“THEY’VE MOVED ON; WE’VE MOVED ON” PENN ON RUMOURED NDP-PVIM MERGER

Chairman of the National Democratic Party Marlon Penn has confirmed, from his party’s point of view, that there will be no merger with the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement ahead of the upcoming General Election.

Penn spoke during a recent appearance on the “Talking Points” show.

According to Penn, while initial talks were had between the two parties surrounding their shared interests, nothing materialised.

Penn shared some brief details surrounding the discussions and rubbished the narrative that the merger fell flat because of demands from the NDP.

He said that following initial talks, there was a pending further conversation. But instead, the PVIM launched its slate of candidates.

He says that the NDP is currently in the process of moving forward, and is eying an official launch for the 2023 General Election by the end of this week.

Penn was very tight-lipped on any details surrounding the NDP’s slate of candidates and did not confirm news of any candidacies ahead of the launch.
