24 APRIL; GENERAL ELECTION DATE CONFIRMED

Governor John Rankin has issued a proclamation and paved the way for elections to be held in the territory. 

24 April 2023 – That’s the day Virgin Islanders will go to the polls and cast their vote for who should occupy the Fifth House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands.

Advanced Polling is slated for 20 April, 2023. 

The dates were confirmed on Wednesday 15 March, 5 days after the Fourth House of Assembly dissolved. 

Section 86 of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order 2007 states, “a general election shall be held at such time within two months, but not earlier than twenty-one days, of the dissolution of the House of Assembly as the Governor shall appoint by proclamation published in the Gazette”.
