2 IN POLICE CUSTODY FOLLOWING AN EARLY MORNING DRUG BUST

Two persons are in police custody following a joint law enforcement operation this morning involving the United States Coast Guard and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

This was confirmed by the RVIPF in a media statement moments ago which revealed that the operation yielded a large quantity of suspected cocaine.

“A joint operation between US Federal Agents and the RVIPF officers, involving both air and marine access from both agencies, culminated this morning with a boat chase that ended on Long Bay, Beef Island. A significant amount of what is believed to be cocaine was seized in the operation along with a speed boat. Two persons are now in custody,” the RVIPF stated.

As investigations remain active the police said no other information can be revealed at this time.
