Canada has announced the introduction of visa-free travel to travelers holding passports from 13 countries, several of which are in the Caribbean.
The list released on June 6th named St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago, among members of the global community who will benefit from this new effort.
According to Canada’s Minister for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Sean Fraser, the “known travelers” will be able to utilize electronic travel authorization to enter Canada.
In order to qualify as a “known traveler” one must, at the time of seeking entry, already hold a Canadian Visa, obtained one over the past 10 years or hold a valid United States Visa.
Once obtained, the electronic travel authorization can be held for 5 years, or until the holder’s passport expires should that date be sooner.
