Laser Sailor Thad Lettsome has created history for the territory, becoming the first sailor from the BVI in 30 years to officially qualify for a Pan American Games.
Lettsome managed to clinch the only qualifying spot for the Games while competing in the ILCA 7 men’s single-handed event, on the final day of races at the CAC Games in San Salvador.
He achieved the historic feat today, after placing second in race number two on the final day of racing.
Lettsome finished sixth in the event overall, just missing out on fifth place by just one point, after finishing eighth in races seven and nine.
