ALEEM FAHIE PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO DRUG CHARGES

28-year-old Aleem Fahie, was offered bail in the sum of $100,000 with one surety after appearing in the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, October 31st.

Fahie, a resident of Brandywine Bay, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and unlawful possession of a controlled drug.

The charges came after the execution of a search warrant on a property Fahie occupies led to the discovery of a large quantity of cocaine.

Fahie pleaded not guilty in court and was offered bail without any resistance from the prosecution.

The defense painted a picture of Fahie as a dedicated public servant and a BVI Islander with over half a decade of service as a fire officer and no previous convictions. They argued that while the illicit drugs were reportedly discovered on the top level of the property, Fahie resides on the bottom level. They also pointed out that the area is without fencing, suggesting that others could potentially have access to the property.
