Shortly after 8pm last evening Monday January 1st, a home in the residential area of Kingston Tortola erupted in flames.
Nearby residents reported hearing a loud explosion and thereafter the house was quickly engulfed in flames.
Inside the home were two elderly sisters and a pet. One was successful in escaping while the other remained trapped and died in the fire.
The identity of the elderly female is known, however same will be withheld until family are notified and an official is provided.
