PREMIER SENDS BEST WISHES TO KING CHARLES FOLLOWING CANCER DIAGNOSIS

The Government of the Virgin Islands have extended its prayers and best wishes to His Majesty King Charles III, following the announcement of his cancer diagnosis.

In a statement on Monday, Premier Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley on behalf of his administration expressed solidarity with individuals worldwide who are sending positive thoughts and wishes to the monarch during this challenging time.

He stated, “On behalf of the Government and people of the Virgin Islands, I join with persons around the world in extending prayers and best wishes to His Majesty King Charles III during his current medical concern.”

Buckingham Palace confirmed the news of the King’s cancer diagnosis to the public on Monday, noting that the 75-year-old monarch received the diagnosis after undergoing treatment during a recent hospital visit for a separate medical procedure for benign prostate enlargement.

The King has since commenced a schedule for regular treatments and will temporarily step back from public-facing duties during this time. However, Charles will continue to fulfil his state responsibilities and handle official paperwork as usual.
