NO INJURIES REPORTED AFTER HUNTUMS GHUT SHOOTING

Several reports of yet another alleged shooting incident has occurred on Tortola, in the Virgin Islands. The report came this evening Saturday March 23rd, 2024.

This follows the most recent shooting of another male last evening in the vicinity of the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Road Town, Tortola. 

In an official release the Royal Virgin Islands Police force on Sunday March 24th, 2024 released the following statement. 

“Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force responded to a report received of shots fired in the Huntums Ghut area after 8 pm on March 23, Following a thorough search of the vicinity, no evidence relating to the reported incident was found, and as of the time of this release, no individual has been found or reported injured. 

Investigations ongoing 

The release from officials further started, “Investigations into the report will continue. The RVIPF urges the public to assist in identifying individuals who may be recklessly discharging firearms. Similar reports of such incidents across the territory are cause for concern, and the community’s cooperation is vital in combating the possession and use of illegal firearms. Those with information regarding this incident or individuals possessing illegal firearms are encouraged to confidentially call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477 (TIPS) or, if located overseas, at 1-284-800-8477. Alternatively, you may contact the RVIP Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.”
