Top Priority Stables tasted sweet victory today as their horse ‘Ghostingyou’ captured the USVI Governor’s Cup. In a blistering 1:43.2 finish, Ghostingyou outpaced the competition in the 1-mile race held at the Clinton E. Phipps Racetrack on St. Thomas.
The $40,000 winner’s purse from Ghostingyou’s triumph adds another accolade to Top Priority Stables’ racing legacy in the circuit.
Prior to the races, owner Lesmore Smith had expressed his passion for the sport and eagerness to compete. “I love the sport wholeheartedly and despite any challenges it’s always a pleasure to be able to compete,” Smith told reporters. “This year Top Priority has two horses competing and we are looking forward to doing very well. And of course we look forward to seeing the fans come out and enjoy the races.”
