In a heartfelt show of solidarity, Mrs. British Virgin Islands Globe 2024 and Women in Need Ambassador Rhonda Victor Pinnock rallied the community to close out Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month with an awareness event on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park.
The rally also featured a candlelight vigil in memory of Adrianna Younge, an 11-year-old girl from Guyana whose tragic death sparked outrage in her home country.
Younge was reported missing during a family outing, and her lifeless body was discovered floating in a hotel swimming pool at a hotel in Guyana in April, triggering violent protests that resulted in the destruction of the property.
