Elections are constitutionally due in the territory in 2027, but it seems the parties are getting themselves together.
The ruling VIP administration has started a radio programme Virgin Islands Voice every First and Third Wednesdays, the newly formed Alliance also has a radio programme every Second and Fourth Wednesday and now the national Democratic Party, NDP resumed its radio programme Monday night, which would be heard every first and Third Mondays.
According to the NDP’s Marlon Penn says the party has begun re-engaging the various district committees ensuring they are active.
Penn stated that the first order of business was to merge the NDP and the PVIM.
He says the next step now is to get the people involved as the party charts the way forward.

And Ronnie Skelton who has moved as leader of the PVIM to join the NDP says he supports the statements made by Penn, adding that with the mobilizing of persons, the party should be ready for the election in two years’ time if it is not called earlier.
