LOCAL BUSINESSMAN QUESTIONS NEED FOR 2027 REFERENDUM ON VI’S FUTURE

As long as the territory is on a path towards self-determination, it does need a referendum to determine where it wants to go.

And as Local Businessman Troy Christopher puts it, ‘that would be giving back what their ancestors fought for’.

It is believed that a committee must be put in place which would do the work and have it placed on the ballot paper for 2027 during the General Elections to move forward that process.

If the BVI wants to go independent, have free association or integration, it would have to be done by way of a referendum.

But during a recent programme on Honestly Speaking, Christopher who was one of the guests said he does not believe a referendum is necessary and he explains why.
