It was an evening punctuated by accolades, special singing renditions and speeches as the second Sixth District recognition ceremony took place at the New Testament Church of God International Worship Centre in Baughers Bay Thursday.
With the sanctuary beautifully decorated in shades of purple and honourees well decked out, it was time to pay homage to these persons whose contributions have been felt throughout the district.
It was said that they demonstrated exceptional performance in their field for a continuous period of 15 years or more.
Some persons were honoured posthumously as well.

This recognition and awards ceremony is the visionary of the Sixth District Representative and Leader of the Opposition Myron Walwyn.
As he honoured them, Walwyn was quick to point out that a country’s progress is never the work of one person, nor does it rest solely in the hands of government or the elected officials.

In giving the honourees response Valerie Charles Welch who was one of the persons who received the Lifetime Achievement Award stated that they feel honoured to meet the criteria of being recipients of these awards.
