WHEATLEY SAYS LOCALS CAN PROFIT FROM TOURISM AMID COMPLAINTS ABOUT BEACH CHAIRS TAKING SOME IDEAL SPACES

As the BVI Tourism Product continues to grow, some persons are capitalizing on providing amenities on the different beaches such as beach chairs.

But as this happens, it is creating a challenge, where some local persons are complaining that these chairs taking up spaces on some of the most ideal beach spots, and some persons being denied access to these chairs unless they patronize the establishment.

This issue was put to Deputy Premier and Minister responsible for Natural Resources and Climate Change Julian Fraser on the Government’s Virgin Islands Voice Programme last week.

And on another issue, Minister Fraser is also encouraging local persons to get involved in the Villa rental business.

Premier Dr. Natalio Wheatley also chimed in, where he said it’s something they must educate the public on.
