MISS BVI PAGEANT CANCELLED FOR 2025, RETURN EXPECTED IN 2026

The Miss BVI Pageant, a staple of Virgin Islands culture, will not be held in 2025, as announced today in a statement from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sustainable Development.

The pageant’s cancellation has been attributed to challenging circumstances around the event’s logistics, which include adequate participation and planning timelines. However, Jr Minister for Culture and Tourism Hon. Luce Hodge Smith affirmed that the hiatus would only strengthen future productions.

“While the pageant will not take place in its traditional format, we remain committed to upholding this important national event’s longstanding legacy and high standards”, she said.

“We look forward to the anticipated return of the pageant in 2026, where we will once again showcase a representative of the Virgin Islands on both regional and international stage,” the statement added.

The Minister thanked the Miss BVI Pageant Committee, led by Chair Ms. Jno Lewis, for their efforts in preparing for the 2025 staging, and said, “Their hard work and dedication continue to play a vital role in the ongoing success of the Miss BVI platform.”

The pageant has long served as a platform for empowering young women, and organizers encouraged all eligible candidates to consider participating in future events.
